2099 GP HELMETS
2099 GP Helmets is an NFT art collection. The brainchild of VFX artist Angelo White. A futuristic study on how GP helmets could hypothetically evolve over time. As a Hollywood VFX artist and huge fan of F1, he fused these two epic universes together and came up with the raw foundations of this artificial intelligence based project.
Although results proved that the basic output of the initial AI prompts was encouraging, there was still a lot of traditional VFX work to do.
Following numerous experiments and prototypes – paying close attention to lighting, color grading, textures, 3D elements, and backgrounds – a collection of art pieces dedicated to individual drivers and teams emerged.
The attention to detail is clearly showcased in the final result of each artwork, with each piece displaying a unique style that complements the specific driver or team, aligning perfectly with his creative vision.
In January ’23, an Instagram post shared with his followers showcased initial prototypes which received wide media coverage and enthusiasm from dedicated VFX, design and F1 platforms like Sky Sports and ESPN F1. This inspired White to “finish the grid” and envision each driver’s helmet from todays line-up as part of a futuristic “2099” collection of artworks.
This sparked immense interest accompanied by a flood of direct messages from people eager to secure one. It became clear that this NFT art collection was only a matter of time.
2099 GP Helmets offers a truly exclusive experience for fans of F1 and digital art. Start collecting now: 20 helmets, each in a limited run of only 99 editions.

Angelo, our resident Director of Arts at iCandy, was born in 1990 in The Netherlands. After immersing himself in online tutorials, he delved into the world of 3D and visual effects. Through this self-study, he managed to craft a modest yet captivating short film that quickly gained popularity in the Netherlands. This achievement paved the way for his acceptance into Vancouver Film School, marking the beginning of his flourishing career in VFX.
As soon as the 2099 GP Helmets collection has been minted, it will become publicly available for purchase on OpenSea.
Please note that OpenSea primarily uses Ethereum as its currency. If you’re interested in buying, selling, or trading NFTs on OpenSea, you’ll need a digital wallet such as MetaMask. Serving as a reliable interface to the Ethereum blockchain, MetaMask, accessible via a browser extension, facilitates easy management of your Ethereum transactions.
Absolutely, the inception of this project is rooted in AI.
Angelo White, a Hollywood VFX artist and a big fan of F1, combined his passions to lay the groundwork for this AI-centric project.
While the initial AI prompts produced promising outcomes, they still required a significant amount of traditional VFX work to refine them. Following numerous experiments and prototypes – paying close attention to lighting, color grading, textures, 3D elements, and backgrounds – a genuine collection of art emerged.
This artistic endeavor established him as a legitimate artist.
No, it is not. The artist curated this collection as a tribute, celebrating the fusion of his professional career in VFX and his personal love for motorsport.
2099 GP HELMETS is unofficial and is not associated in any way with the Formula 1 companies. F1, FORMULA ONE, FORMULA 1, FIA FORMULA ONE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP, GRAND PRIX and related marks are trademarks of Formula One Licensing B.V.
Details about the roadmap of this collection can be found on our 2099 GP Helmets website. While we do not plan on arranging exclusive events or VIP benefits in real life, we are excited about launching our collaborative iCandy.works and community-focused icandy.club websites this summer.
We are also thinking of introducing unlockable content, enabling token holders to connect their wallets to download an HD file of their 2099 GP Helmets artwork, allowing them to create a physical artwork.
This is indeed our first collection drop. However, it isn’t the first collection we created, nor will it be the last. We are “new kids on the blockchain”, and we are here to stay.
At iCandy we are fully focused on art, photography, collectibles, sports and music.
So, you won’t find pixelated whales or apathetic apes here. Instead, we offer genuine artwork from dedicated artists and business partners.
We assist them with transforming their artwork and opportunities into meticulously crafted and innovative digital assets, ensuring they receive the IP rights, licenses, and royalties they deserve.
